Business hours are Monday-Sunday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Central time ...( except on holidays listed on my home page ). I Do not ship puppies per ILLINOIS state law. All Puppies must be picked up at my home.
There are always questions in my fur baby buyers minds how our puppies are raised ? The internet also advises people “What Questions to ask “ which are usually not appropriate as a puppy buyer whom may or may not understand the ins and outs of breeding . Being a breeder and producing quality puppies can not be explained in the amount of time our conversation will run. we are not trying to hide anything from our puppy buyers . However, we are a safe and clean , Licensed in home breeder. You will never be allowed to wonder about my home or nursery , because you are a possible danger to my mamas and babies. I know you would never do anything intentional . But real illnesses are out there and we cannot allow our precious babies or parents to come in contact with any of those illnesses ! I have even been advised by my Lic. Inspector not to allow people to come to my home , as it is very risky in these days and times with crime being what it is now. It is my job and responsibility to insure the health of every baby I send out to it’s new home. It is also my responsibility to see to it that my parents stay healthy to produce quality babies for your home. If I over breed my mamas they will not have healthy quality babies, and they will themselves be in poor condition. If I under feed or don’t provide medical , they will not produce healthy babies. If I don’t produce healthy babies , no one would want my babies . I know my babies speak for themselves . It is always my goal to have clean, healthy, socialized babies ! I am going to share pictures for you , so you will see where your babies are raised . They are loved, cared for , clean, and always as healthy as possible !
Yes ! I do cook for my adults...I am lucky enough to get to keep my own chickens . So eggs are in abundance here. I scramble or boil eggs , add a safe vegetable , I use fish oil for omega 3 fats , just make sure to check on line for all the types of SAFE veggies to fed your dog. I do use dry kibble for the remainder of the day . These eggs are a great source of extra healthy protein. I don’t like feeding raw eggs , some people do but I feel better feeding cooked meats and proteins.
I buy my puppy play pens online through Walmart . They are easy to take apart and store when not needed. They are plastic and come in a variety of colors. I use news paper and pee pads on the floor of the pen , then clean as needed. These pens are plenty big enough to put bed and food on one end , and open potty area on the other. It’s a safe place to leave your baby when you are not available to watch it. It also makes a great in home potty area during bad weather and the middle of the night. There is a door that could easily be left open to allow your older pet free access to the in home potty area when they are bigger. I don’t suggest it for larger breeds , but it is wonderful for the smaller more delicate breeds.
🐾 Do you know how many rejections it costs to be a breeder?
Being a breeder is not just pictures of cute puppies and pride in beautiful dogs. It is also a whole ocean of rejections that are invisible to someone on the outside.
🕰️ Time? There is no such thing as "free"
You forget about weekends, trips, vacations. At least for a few hours. You can't go to the movies with newborns lying in the crib. You can't sleep peacefully at night if the pregnant bitch is worried. You can't leave the incubator when one puppy is fighting for its life. There is no "break" in breeding. Every minute counts.
💸 Money? You invest endlessly
💰 Good dogs are expensive - and very expensive. 💰Tests, genetic tests, exhibitions, travel, food, supplements, c-sections, medicines, vaccines, accessories - these are thousands of dollars 💵 💰 Income? Sometimes it just goes away. There isn't any. Sometimes you are left in debt and... with an empty bed.
💔 Emotions? You learn patience and pain
➡️ When a puppy dies in your arms, and you are powerless. ➡️ When a bitch does not give birth, despite your efforts. ➡️ When you have to refuse a person who "only wants one dog", because you see that it will not be a good home. ➡️ When you sacrifice everything - and in return you receive hatred, jealousy and slander.
👩 ⚕️No routine - you are a breeder, but also:
🩺 a nurse/neonatalogist 🍼 foster mother 📖 in genetics 📦 in logistics 📷 a photographer 🧹 a cleaning lady 🧠 a psychologist 💬 advisor to their clients, often for years
👨 👩 👧 👦 family and friends ?? Things can be difficult
- "We can't meet because the bitch is giving birth." "" - "I won't come because the puppies have diarrhea and I need to guard them." "" - "No, I won't leave them with anyone. "It's my responsibility."
Not everyone will understand. Not everyone will stay.
❤️ But through it all... it's love
Love for animals, for their lives, for the development of the breed. Love that makes you get up 10 times a night. Love that doesn't let you take shortcuts. Love that makes babies grow up healthy and makes you happy despite being sick,or tired.
🐶 A breeder is not a "puppy person".
This is someone who gives up their OWN comfort for the benefit of animals. This is someone who doesn't equate love with money. This is someone who lives between joy and pain, and still wouldn't trade it for anything else.
❤️ Respect passionate breeders. Every day they give everything they can, although no one sees it. ❤️
